Ms. Sp8 with Monkey

No Monkey Business Here. Traveling to a monkey reserve while on a trip to Bolivia, Ms. Sp8 befriends one of the monkeys who had been rescued after being abandoned when discovered that monkeys don't make good house pets.

MY WRITING Yes! I also write, just like you. Check out some of my work. Here are a couple of essays I wrote while in graduate school.

"Ozzie, Ozzie, Ozzie"

  • A critical essay, evaluating Ozzie Smith as the best ballplayer ever!

"How Does Your Garden Grow?"

  • A personal essay about my grandfather Gang-Gang (yes, I meant to write Gang-Gang).

I am so excited to be returning for my second year here at Ste. Genevieve. Here's just a little information about me:

I graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with my Masters in English, and while I am originally from Jackson, MO, I went to undergrad in TN, earning a degree in English/certification in secondary education from Lambuth University. Go Eagles! As an undergrad, I was pretty much the bookworm (and proud of it); however, I also played varsity softball (second base).  In fact, I have played softball for over 25 years.

My last job, before returning to school, was as a tenth grade English teacher for a private college prep school in TN. While at Southeast, I served as a teaching/research assistant, teaching freshman composition and working with the Center for Faulkner Studies (I'm a huge Southern literature fan).

Extra Duties:

Sophomore Class Sponsor

Yearbook/Newspaper Adviser

Winter Guard
