Requirements for Publications:

Requirements are currently under consideration. Here are some guidelines to consider in order to join the staff.

These guidelines start with a grade of 92% or above in your seventh grade Communications Arts class and a recommendation by your language teacher. It is always a good idea to try to write different styles of articles and essays to practice for the newspaper.  The qualities of a great Publications student include a high sense of responsibility, an ability to work on one's own with success, a good attitude in both individual and group settings, good communication skills (both written and oral), and an ability to "think on your feet." Being able to stick to a plan and meet deadlines is a must if you intend to succeed on the yearbook or newspaper staff. Creativity is a must. You need to be able to show creativity through your writing, your approach to a story, and the type of information used in an article. Artistic creativity is helpful to the staff as well.

Having a good sense of humor is also helpful.
