Mr. Mercer and I look forward to serving the students, staff, and patrons of SGHS in the upcoming school year. We are excited to continue to offer many excellent opportunities for our students and we look forward to build upon our strong academic and extracurricular programs. In addition, we remain focused on assisting our dedicated faculty and student body in their continued efforts to support of the community.
SGHS is committed to excellence in education and offers a challenging curriculum for the students; including the option for a college preparatory certificate. In order to qualify for this prestigious award at graduation a student must score a minimum of 21 on the ACT, have at least a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, have a 95% cumulative attendance rate, and earn an impressive 27 credits. Students may also choose to get a head start on their college career by taking college credit in areas of study such as math, science, social studies, and communication arts. Our A+ designation allows for those students wanting to earn free tuition for two years at community college or at many of the Missouri technical schools to do so.
During the 2010-2011 school year, we will also be dedicated to the continual growth of our award winning technical and fine arts programs. These programs include areas of study in agriculture, wood working, automated drafting, auto mechanics, foreign language, art, and family and consumer sciences.
If you are a dedicated patron, we invite you to stop by and let Mr. Mercer or I give you a guided tour of are wonderful facilities. We are proud and appreciative that families in the Ste. Genevieve community entrust us with the education of their children. It is our belief that this pride shows in everything we do.
Have a great day!
Chris Hoehne
Principal SGHS
